Description

The 7th workshop on Dark Matter as a portal to New Physics (DMPNP 2025) will take place at the APCTP headquarter, Pohang, Korea, on Jan 6th - 10th, 2025.

The purpose of this focus research program is putting the young experts together to discuss the novel theoretical and experimental improvements in identifying dark matter. In particular, the program aims to encourage the participants to develop creative and non-conventional ideas which have not been considered in this field.

Detecting Dark Photon Dark Matter with Radio Telescopes 1h

We propose the utilization of radio telescopes for investigating ultralight dark photon dark matter (DPDM) through its conversion into monochromatic photons. The first proposal involves solar radio observation, where DPDM resonantly converts within the solar corona. The second proposal aims to detect the direct conversion of DPDM at the dish reflector or the dipole antenna of radio telescopes. Both proposals seek to detect monochromatic photons with energy equal to the DPDM mass.
